How has crime changed in Pennsylvania since 1985?

Police in Pennsylvania reported about 229 violent crimes per 100,000 people in 2025 (U.S.: 329), down from a high of 465 in 1991, and 1,360 property crimes in 2025 (U.S.: 1,552), down from a high of 3,195 in 1991. There's no figure for 2021, when police departments covering fewer than 3 in 4 of its people reported a full year. Rates count only the agencies that reported. Choose another state to compare.
