How has crime changed in Kentucky since 1985?

Police in Kentucky reported about 214 violent crimes per 100,000 people in 2025 (U.S.: 329), down from a high of 602 in 1994, and 1,282 property crimes in 2025 (U.S.: 1,552), down from a high of 3,590 in 1987. There's no figure for 1988, 1991–1992 and 1996–2003, when police departments covering fewer than 3 in 4 of its people reported a full year. Rates count only the agencies that reported.
