What do people complain to the CFPB about most?

"Incorrect information on your report" was the most common issue in 2025, named in 2.83 million complaints, more than half of all. Next came improper use of a credit report (1.10 million) and a company's investigation into an existing problem (867,390); attempts to collect a debt the person says isn't owed (115,682) led the rest. Issues are the CFPB's categories, picked by the person complaining, and complaints aren't verified.
