Which states get the most electricity from wind and solar?
In 2025 wind and solar made 60.7% of Iowa's electricity, 59.1% of South Dakota's and 51.9% of New Mexico's, against 17.2% across the US and under 1% in Alabama. Solar counts only utility-scale plants, not rooftop panels, and the 2025 figures are preliminary.
