How much cash do the biggest U.S.-listed companies hold?
Of the 25 largest U.S.-listed companies by revenue, JPMorgan Chase, a bank, held the most cash at the end of its 2025 fiscal year: $343 billion, mostly money deposited at the Federal Reserve and other banks. Among the others, Amazon held $87 billion and Berkshire Hathaway $53 billion, while Home Depot held $1.4 billion. This is cash and cash equivalents on each company's balance sheet on the last day of its fiscal year that falls mostly in 2025; it leaves out longer-term investments such as Treasury bonds, which many of these companies hold much more of.
