The figures are what Dell Technologies reported in its annual reports (10-K, or a foreign company's 20-F or 40-F) under U.S. accounting rules, each fiscal year as first reported, not a later restatement. They start around 2007, when companies began filing their numbers in a form computers can read. A fiscal year is named by the year it ends in, which can differ from the company's own name for it. Profit is net income; cash is cash and cash equivalents on the last day of the year. Dollars are dollars of the day, not adjusted for inflation.
