Over the 10 years to June 2026, home prices rose most in Idaho (152.5%), followed by Maine (122.8%) and Utah (120.9%), on FHFA's index. They rose least in Louisiana (42.1%) and District of Columbia (32.7%); across the U.S. the change was 93.3%. The index follows repeat sales and refinance appraisals of the same single-family houses with mortgages backed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, and it is not adjusted for inflation.
