How much money is deposited at a U.S. bank?
Type the name of any U.S. bank open today, or of one that failed since 1985, to see its deposits or assets each quarter since 1984, from its reports to regulators. JPMorgan Chase Bank, shown first, held $2.82 trillion in deposits at the end of June 2026, up from $34 billion at the start of 1984; much of that growth came from buying other banks, including Washington Mutual in 2008. Figures are in dollars of the day, not adjusted for inflation.
