Which states get the most electricity from wind and solar?
The interactive chart needs JavaScript. The numbers are on the chart's page.
In 2025 wind and solar made 60.3% of South Dakota's electricity, 60.2% of Iowa's and 52.4% of New Mexico's, against 17.2% across the US and 0.9% in Alabama. Solar counts only utility-scale plants, not rooftop panels, and the 2025 figures are preliminary.
