Chart 1 of 1 · Baby names
What is the most popular girls' name in each state?
The interactive chart needs JavaScript. The numbers are on the chart's page.
In 2025, the most popular girls' name in each state was given to between 1.0% and 3.6% of the girls born there. The biggest share was Vermont: Charlotte (state: name), and the smallest North Carolina: Amelia. Each bar is the top name's share of girls born in the state that year; it counts only names given to at least 5 girls in the state, because Social Security leaves out the rest, so it slightly overstates the true share.
